He has coached and aided in developing more than sixty players who continued their basketball careers at the college and professional levels.
“I want to thank Arnold for his 11 years of dedicated service to this AAU organization,” said Harris. "I’m honored to follow in his footsteps joining other successful leaders such as Dallas Simmons, Carl Liebert, John Davis, and Kevin Eastman. Team Richmond Garner Road was established in 2001 and I look forward to advancing our legacy of service to young men in the greater Richmond area and becoming the model AAU program on and off the court nationally.”
Separate from Team Richmond Garner Road, Harris is employed as a full-time faculty member and Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach and Program Leader at the Collegiate School. He operates the Del Harris Basketball Academy and a mentoring program with Chesterfield County Public Schools.
Harris completed his third season at Collegiate School where he has compiled a 54-27 (.667) overall record. In his first two seasons, Harris led the Cougars to consecutive conference finals appearances.
This past season, for the first time in 20 years, Collegiate won the regular season co-conference championship and the Richmond Times-Dispatch Basketball Tournament.
